CMA offer professional Wado Ryu Karate, and Full Contact Kickboxing classes, to answer this question I will use Karate as an example if you study Wado Ryu Karate and then go to learn shotokan Karate you will find stances and the way techniques are thrown are completely different, a bit like playing tennis, Badminton, and squash could seen as similar as they use a racket, however they are completely different sports.

For this reason in CMA you would be asked to start from white belt, unless you have studied Wado Ryu Karate in which case you will be assessed to confirm rank.

If you are a Kickboxer who has fought many bouts in light contact and full contact, you will still have to be assessed to confirm a rank, all CMA Kickboxers must complete our syllabus before we would recognise a Blackbelt.

Some schools will recognise grades from other styles but at CMA we don't believe this is correct.
